Earth Day reminder – GREEN Choices in Carpet mean Savings for You

  Today is Earth Day.
Earth Day is not just about saving a few trees; it’s about saving our entire planet. So, I wanted to share some of the great trends in Flooring that are environmentally friendly and could save you some money on your next flooring purchase. Every year, more and more of the products we offer our clients are considered "green". Especially in our carpet selections. I just have a few moments to write, so I will try to be brief. Ten years ago, most of the carpets on the market were man-made, synthetic fibers that were highly dependant on crude oil and petroleum manufacturing processes. Within the past few years we have seen escalating costs in crude oil and therefore most petroleum dependant carpet fibers (or yarns) have followed oils pricing. In fact, most fibers such as nylon, polypropylene and olefin have more than doubled in the past five years. But perhaps this was not such a bad thing because it pushed manufacturers to find more cost effecient ways to produce carpet fiber. This has led to a great surge in carpet fiber that is either totally recycled content (such as PET yarn) or non-petroleum fibers (such as PTT fiber, with the softest feel of any fiber yet). Included in this list are hybrid fibers of partially recycled content which have come on the scene in this past year. Not only are these type of fibers stronger, more stain resistant, and earth friendly, but the cost to produce them is less than petroleum dependant carpet yarn. This means we are able to offer our clients a terrific assortment of quality carpets, that are environmentally friendly ("Green"), and cost less than traditional carpet fibers.
The bottom line is this: Not only do we offer the same great service and value we always have, we are now able to take that up a notch, and offer you a better earth friendly carpet with better warranties (many have lifetime stain warranties) at a greater savings for the consumer. Come by our dealership and see the difference in today’s carpets compared to just a few short years ago, or call us for a Free in home consultation, and ask us to bring our earth friendly specials for you to see, in the comfort of your home.
Better Fiber, Better Warranties, Better Pricing. This all adds up to Savings and Value for You, and salvation for Our Environment.

Fibromyalgia Challenge

Do you have a friend or loved one that suffers from Fibromyalgia?
Would you like to have a better idea what they go through on a daily basis? Consider taking the National Fibromyalgia Association’s "Clothespin Challenge". I would be suprised if most people could last more than a couple of minutes, yet this is what your loved one goes through every day (all day).
When people ask me what it’s like to have Fibromyalgia, this is what I tell them. Imagine your worst day with the Flu. The extreme fatigue, the achiness, the utter inability to function normally. Now imagine waking up that way every day for the rest of your life… This would be a good day for someone with Fibromyalgia. If you factor in the extra pain they suffer through each day, you can see why some of us might be a bit crabby. My family knows when I am having a bad day, I don’t get crabby, but I tend to get very quiet and just want to be left alone and please don’t give me a hug (as much as I would like it, it hurts like hell).
The NFA is having thier first annual "Walk of Fame" to raise awareness and donations to study this disease. Would you consider giving a small donation to this cause? Millions of people would thank you. Just go to to find out more about this disease and how you can make a donation that could help us find some kind of better treatment, or maybe even a cure.
As a businessman with Fibromyalgia, I know what it’s like when you are no longer able to work a normal 9 to 5 job. Help those you know who have this disease and still manage to operate a business by using thier services or buying thier goods; The bills don’t stop coming and the mortgage is still due, yet many brave souls with Fibromyalgia continue to work through the pain rather than go on disability and become a burden to society.
